American and European Roulette
A typical American roulette wheel contains numbers 1 through 36, plus 0 and 00. A European roulette wheel contains the same numbers, except without the 00. You do not want to play on an American roulette wheel online. The casino gets its edge by paying you the odds of your number coming up as if there were no 0 or 00. Those extra “numbers” which distort the true odds are what make money for the casino. By doubling the amount of zero “numbers,” the casino nearly doubles its edge against you. In a live casino, you have to play at whatever kind of roulette table they have. With the whole Internet to choose from, you’d be foolish to play at a roulette table that contains a 00.
